FAQs

  • What is the cost?

Spring U-Pick seasonal admission is $8 per person ages 12 and up. This fee includes county admission tax. Children 11 and under are free. Each tulip you pick is $1 per stem.

  • Do I need to bring anything?

Not at all! We have baskets and scissors for you to use while you are here. You are welcome to bring your own cutting and gathering materials, if you prefer. Buckets are also welcome if you plan on picking a large amount. We have water on-site for you to fill up your vessels from home.

  • Are animals permitted?

We are sorry, but pets are not permitted on our farm due to liability and food safety issues.

  • Do we take credit cards?

We take cash, card, and even Apple Pay at the farm.

  • Is the farm stroller or wagon friendly?

Yes! We have many families bring their own strollers or wagons to the farm. Keep in mind that our farm is located on a sloping hill and has dirt and rocks, so bumps are inevitable.

  • Can I bring food or drink?

Yes! We encourage families and friends to bring their own food and beverages to the farm — we even have picnic tables for you to enjoy a meal or a snack with a view! We occasionally host food trucks on the property, but do not sell our own food or drinks at this time. Please refrain from bringing alcoholic beverages.

  • Do we allow photography?

Yes! Customers are welcome to take their own photos while at the farm. If you would like to use our farm as a photography venue for paid photography sessions, please see all details and costs here.

  • DO we HOST GROUPS OR FIELD TRIPS?

During the months of September and October we host schools, co-ops, and other groups for private field trips. Our field trips last about an hour and includes a crop tour with our farmer and a self-guided scavenger hunt. If you are interested in booking a field trip for your group, please send us an email.

  • Do we harvest our own honey?

Yes! Our bees do double duty at the farm, both pollinating the crops as well as producing an abundance of honey for us to share with you. Honey is harvested every summer, so be sure to pick up a bottle or two in the fall when it is available!

  • How can I volunteer at Thompson Family Farms?

We have many volunteer opportunities on the farm, from planting and harvesting to helping with events. If you are interested learning more, please sign up here.
